Reporter Yang Jin-young = The sequel to the worldwide box office hit ‘Avatar’, ‘Avatar: Road of Water’ has confirmed its first release in Korea, which is setting the standard for the global film market. Director James Cameron, producer John Landau, and actors Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang of ‘Avatar: Road to Water’, which is about to be released on the 14th, came to Korea. The sequel to ‘Avatar’, which will be released after 13 years, was presented in Korea for the first time in the world, and those who came to Korea directly showed their affection for high-level Korean movie fans.

Director James Cameron said, “I’m glad I came to Korea and I’m grateful to be able to talk about the movie. I’m glad that so many people came and showed great interest. They are people who don’t need it. My hotel room was nice too,” he said, thanking Korea for their hospitality. Sam Washington also said his first greeting, “I am very happy to come to Korea with a very warm welcome. I am really full of expectations.” Zoe Saldana said with a happy expression, “I know how popular ‘Avatar’ was in Korea. I’m here to introduce you to the next journey.” Sigourney Weaver was impressed, saying, “From the moment we arrived, we felt how welcomed we were and how politely we were treated.” Stephen Lang said, “Thank you for welcoming us warmly. I want to share a warm friendship as an American in the wonderful country of Korea.” Producer John Landau quickly returned after the Busan International Film Festival last October.

He said, “I came to Korea six weeks ago, and today I feel a warm welcome. You must watch it on the big screen. Please come to the cinema.” As in the previous ‘Avatar’, director James Cameron put several messages and philosophies related to marine ecosystem conservation into the film in the sequel. He said, “The message I want to show is the same as in the first film. I wanted to portray a situation in which the sea and the environment are destroyed and resources are stolen for no reason. Everyone always thinks about it and unconsciously feels it because the source that makes life on Earth possible is the ocean,” he said. “Many species in the ocean are endangered. We have to work hard,” James said. “Nevertheless, our film is first an exploration, then a family, then a drama, and a moving story. It will be a movie that will make you feel something and think about it. It will be a movie that makes you feel rather than teach something, and it will give you a chance to think about the sea once again.”

Sigourney Weaver, who appeared in the sequel as her daughter Kiri following Dr. Grace in the first episode, is also widely known as an environmental activist. He said, “Kiri is a character who has a connection with all the oceans, and breathes and feels something with all living things, whether it is the ocean or the forest. Like all of us, Kiri is a character with more feelings and moves into action. I am happy to be here. We are coexisting on the planet. Everyone should work hand in hand to combat climate change and crisis.”

In particular, ‘Avatar: Road of Water’ explores the fantastic visuals and charms of the ocean and sea, while at the same time telling the story of deep family love. Director James Cameron said, “Everyone here can answer, not just me. We all have children and have families.” “Some people have no family, but everyone dreams of it. Of course, it’s not easy to build a family. But the fact that you become stronger when you are with your family doesn’t change. Also, you can deeply feel the maternal feelings of a mother and a father who protect you.” that,” he said.

Zoe Saldana, who plays Neytiri, said, “If the first Jake and Neytiri were Pandora’s love story at the time, now I’m drawing a story where Sulli feels a sense of belonging and belongs to a new place and connects with her family. Children grow up quickly and have things to protect. I am grateful to the director for allowing us to play the complex elements of a family, which is born and teaches how to survive in battle.”
