Shipping & Returns
Shipping
We know that shipping is often the part buyers worry about the most, especially when sourcing from overseas brands. Madeinkorea.io is designed to make this process as clear and predictable as possible.
Wholesale shipping works very differently from standard consumer shipping, and we understand that this can feel unfamiliar at first. Because wholesale orders are typically shipped by carton rather than by individual units, shipping costs and timelines are influenced by several operational factors rather than a flat rate.
In most cases, shipping costs are calculated based on the total weight of the shipment, the overall volume or carton size, and the destination country. This means that two orders with the same quantity can still have different shipping costs depending on how they are packed and where they are shipped.
To help buyers plan more clearly, shipping costs are generally affected by the following factors:
• total shipment weight
• carton volume and packing configuration
• destination country and region
• selected shipping method (air, ocean, or courier)
Depending on the brand and order structure, shipments may be arranged via air freight, ocean freight, or international courier services. Estimated shipping methods and timelines are shared by each brand before order confirmation so buyers can review expectations in advance.
Some brands may ship under internationally recognized Incoterms (International Commercial Terms). When this applies, the brand will clearly specify the Incoterm, such as EXW, FOB, CIF, or DDP. Incoterms help define responsibilities related to transportation, customs clearance, duties, and risk transfer, ensuring both buyers and brands share the same understanding from the start.
For shipments within the United States, brands often use reliable carriers such as USPS, FedEx, or DHL. In many cases, discounted commercial shipping rates are applied, allowing orders to be delivered safely, efficiently, and at a lower cost than standard retail rates.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, buyers are responsible for shipping-related costs. These may include freight charges, customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, and any destination-specific charges required by local authorities.
Once an order has shipped, tracking information will be shared when available. While Madeinkorea.io does not directly control shipping carriers, we aim to support clear communication so buyers are not left guessing about shipment status. Delays caused by customs clearance, carrier operations, force majeure events, or incorrect shipping information provided by the buyer are outside of our control, but we are always happy to help clarify next steps and support communication with the brand.
Returns & Cancellations
We know that returns and cancellations can feel stressful in B2B sourcing, especially when you are testing a new brand. Because Madeinkorea.io operates as a B2B sourcing platform, orders are generally considered final unless a brand explicitly states otherwise.
Each brand sets its own return, exchange, and cancellation policies. Before confirming an order, buyers are strongly encouraged to review brand-specific policies carefully, particularly for made-to-order or limited-production items.
As a general guideline, orders that are custom-made, produced to order, or manufactured specifically for a buyer are not eligible for return or cancellation once production has begun. This is standard practice in wholesale and manufacturing environments and allows brands to plan production responsibly.
Cancellation requests may be considered only if production or shipping has not started and only with explicit approval from the brand. Final approval always rests with the brand, but Madeinkorea.io is happy to help facilitate communication when needed.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, buyers should notify the brand directly within seven (7) days of delivery and provide clear photos and relevant details. This helps ensure the issue can be reviewed quickly and fairly.
Depending on the situation, the brand may offer a replacement, partial refund, or another reasonable solution. While Madeinkorea.io does not make final decisions regarding claims, we aim to support smooth and constructive communication throughout the process.
How We Support Buyers
Madeinkorea.io does not take ownership of inventory or directly manage shipping or payments. Our role is to support buyers by helping set clear expectations, encouraging transparency, and reducing unnecessary friction when working with overseas brands.
When questions arise around shipping structures, Incoterms, or brand policies, we help clarify information and guide discussions so buyers can move forward with confidence.
Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers are responsible for confirming import regulations, product standards, labeling requirements, and local compliance in their destination market. To minimize risk, we always recommend starting with a test order when working with a new brand. This allows buyers to evaluate logistics, communication, and product quality before scaling.
Madeinkorea.io is designed to help buyers source Korean brands in a way that feels informed, supported, and realistic. By clearly explaining shipping structures, cost variables, and responsibilities, we aim to reduce uncertainty and help buyers build long-term, reliable sourcing relationships.
As a platform representing Korean brands on the global stage, Madeinkorea.io is committed to continuously listening to buyers and evolving with their needs. We pay close attention to the details that matter in real sourcing situations, from logistics and order flexibility to communication and expectations. When gaps or friction points appear, our goal is to address them quickly and thoughtfully. By doing so, we aim to become a trusted platform that buyers can rely on not just for access to Korean brands, but for an improving, responsive sourcing experience built around real-world needs.
